The Big Ones

Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAGs).

The 21-Day Challenges help me stay sharp, stay disciplined, and build systems for getting 1% better each day. But every so often, I need something bigger – something that truly tests the life system I’m building.

That’s where BHAGs come in.

A BHAG, or Big Hairy Audacious Goal, isn’t just a long-term vision. It’s a crucible. A proving ground. A way to stress-test the systems, habits, and mental frameworks I’ve been building through daily challenges.

And while these big goals can be fun and motivating, that’s not why I chase them. The real reward is in the resistance. It’s not about the medal, the certificate, or the photo at the finish line. It’s about what I have to overcome to get there.

What You’ll Find Here

This section highlights some of the BHAGs I’ve taken on—from ultramarathons to Ironman triathlons and beyond. Inside each post, I share:

  • How I chose the goal

  • The systems and routines I built to pursue it

  • My mindset and strategy during the process

  • What the journey taught me

Maybe one of these stories will light a spark for you.

Choose Your Own BHAG

You don’t need to be an athlete or an adventurer to pick a BHAG. Maybe your BHAG is starting a business, writing a book, or rebuilding your health. Whatever it is, treat it like a challenge worth rising to.

Read through mine. Then go pick yours.

Let it challenge you. Let it change you.
